Thaya Baskaran is a leading construction and arbitration lawyer who advises on and drafts building and engineering contracts, and acts as counsel, adjudicator, arbitrator, and mediator in complex disputes. Appointed in Malaysia’s fifteenth statutory adjudication, he now regularly serves in that role and sits on panels of several international arbitration centres.
Author of Arbitration in Malaysia: A Commentary on the Malaysian Arbitration Act (Wolters Kluwer, 2019), Thaya is recognized by Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, and Global Arbitration Review for his expertise, innovation, and advocacy. A former Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Malaysia Branch) and President of the Society of Construction Law Malaysia, he is widely regarded as a leading voice in construction and arbitration law.
